They are both mature creative minds who have been working at this industry for a long time now. Michael is appealed to the same styles of art as I am. Obscure and controversial. On our first meet up we spoke of amazing photo shoot ideas. This is the first series that has been shot. This is human sculpture, inspired by Salvador Dali, Picasso and the earths elemental features.

Mark Blamey had a dream to be zorro for halloween. His goal was that none of his co-workers would recognize him for as long as possible. On a day to day basis he has grey hair and blue eyes! I picked up contacts for him, colored him hair and eye brows temporarily, glued down a mustache, and also applied sideburns. His dream came true, none of the workers could tell it was him for some time. This is the testimonial that Mark sent me afterwards.

Alecia provided me with an excellent service to make my Halloween particularly special. She was friendly, polite, and attentive when I first contacted her to frame the details of what I needed for makeup to supplement my Zorro costume. Her followup communication was prompt, and frequent enough to ensure my needs were being met through materials that had to be pre-ordered. She was also helpful with ideas for places I might visit to enhance my costume. In applying my makeup, which was a first for me, she was patient, very detail oriented, and fun to talk with as well. I highly recommend Alecia as a make-up artist who is both skilled and easy to deal with.

I have done makeup for a couple fashion catalogues this season and last. Mermaid Moon (Victoria, BC) is one of those. I was shopping at this store this summer, and mentioned I do makeup artistry. The owner smiled and said that she was shooting her catalogue the following Monday. That is how I obtained this job! You never know where you will find work in this industry.

This summer I have been creating a lot of tribal styled makeups. Here are three images that I love and wanted to share with you. The top image is from a short film I worked on. In the second image, Alex is only beginning her modelling venture so we were excited to get her out of her comfort zone. The third image was shot in San Fran just after Burning Man.

Dub Fx is a street performer and recording artist from Melbourne, Australia. I have been following his career and listening to him for many years now. It has been a dream to see him live, when I heard they were coming to Vancouver I bought my ticket straight away. The day of the show I was walking down Granville street and who do I run into but Dub Fx and Flower Fairy! They left a big mark in my heart for sure, beautiful people. We connected, and I got to do Flower Fairy's makeup before the show at club 560!!! She told me that she did not want any black on her face. Which is perfect I love sparkles and UV paint. We got along so well I think i used at least 10 different glitters on her. The white flower on her cheek is white and pink UV paint.

Ethan is 13 years old and wanted to be made up into a clown to scare his older brother! He grew his hair for months before this shoot so that I would have free reign on it. I cut and colored his hair to this style. In the photo you will see a burning object, this is a massive teddy bear we set on fire. The full moon you see in the back is also real! This shoot turned out creepier then we even planned for it to be. :) Enjoy~

Head Shots For Brandon Bodie!

I live in a home stay house in South Vancouver...meaning that I have

new roomates monthly from all over the world. In our house each person is our brother/sister and we are all angels. This post is about my brother Brandon Bodie.

He moved to Vancouver to volunteer during the Olympics for Coca Cola. I seen him many early mornings when he was off to work and I was off to some film set or crazy gig, and also late at night when we would both finally be home and exhausted from our eventful days. I find this is when people are the most comical.

Anyways, I had the pleasure to spend an evening with Brandon and his lovely mother and father to shoot some head shots. Here is the before image:

Alice And Wonderland, Stage Makeup!

I got the opportunity to travel to Salt Spring Island in the middle of May. The job was doing

stage makeup and airbrushing for "Alice And Wonderland"

The play was amazing, the makeup crew and myself watched it three times and still it was so entertaining each time. It was put on by high school students. Naturally, you think the production would be mediocre. This was not the case at all. Each student got into their own character and preformed so smoothly and effortlessly. They worked on the production for six months before showing the public.

The production had singers, dancers, musicians, and actors! Each singer wrote their own songs for the show. Enough said, here are the images of the characters I had the privilege to work on! Enjoy~

"The Caterpillar" - Jesse

He was so patient, his makeup took the longest. It was mostly airbrushing, and I even put lashes on him and he did not complain once! Jesse was such a pleasure to work with. The bright green paint is UV paint which glowed on stage! This character is HILARIOUS in the production.

"The Red Queen" -Courtney

Courtney is so precious! She is graduating this year along with many of the other cast members. I wish them all luck in whatever they want to achieve. She has the cutest giggle that would come out when I had the airbrush near her ear!

"The Jaberwocky" -Alix

This character is the alter ego of Alice. She was supposed to look creepy, I had troubles with this character the first day. Each day her makeup would progress until I came up with this look. On stage the bright green paint would glow! She was a dancer, and played her role magically!

"The Tweedle" -James

This character is the guard to the queens gardens. He was so powerful, yet hilarious on stage! This was the first time I did his makeup, it progressed each night along with each look. We all got more comfortable with each makeup by the end and would have extra time to add little extra's to each look.

I also did "The Mad Hatter" makeup. Unfortunately there is no professional image of that makeup. Instead of following the Tim Burton style of "The Mad Hatter" I did more of a sandy beige pallet. I added in some burnt orange and browns around the eyes and contour and blacked out her tooth as well.

Claire and Barbara are in the acting program at UBC. For class they were performing acts from this era, so Barbara was clever and got some professional help! This shoot was so much fun, and working with this team is a breeze.

I got asked to do some very creative makeup for Jon Paul at Avant Garde Salon. How could I refuse?! The looks were very over the top and very fashion forward. I got to work with a great makeup crew, and an amazing hair team! Overall this event was very entertaining.

The event was to promote salons throughout BC. Teams competed from the island, from the inner mainland, the interior, etc.

I came up with the concept of this design for final projects at Blanche Macdonald Center.

I used everything punk to reppresent a vixen reptile. The studs attached in scale formations represent the scales on a reptile. The liberty spiked hair represents the spikes on a reptile. The glow in the dark scale print also represents the scales, and unique-ness of the scales. I chose metalic cobalt blue as the base color because it is a very strong and bold color. I like how it reacts with the shiny studs.
